Christmas catch up

Hello! Sorry it has been so long since my last entry, which wasn't excactly a pleasant one at that! but I have been super busy with uni work and xmas shopping and what not so as an update I'll give you my life in photo's!

Here's from when we went to a selection of Liverpool art galleries, and this is when we met Mimi Maguire!! well, she's really called Tina Malone, but she will always be Mimi to me! what a ledgend!

This piccy was taken from mine and Mark's two year anniversary celebratory night in a hotel..hehe!

I recently went to the Birmingham clothes show with 2 of my girlies, sarah and emily, this is taken from one of the smaller catwalks, but still very fabulous!

A way way way while back I went to an art festival held in the centre of the city along the roman walls. The pieces reflected times in history, not quite sure what this one was about though! Although one of my lecturers was there performing his own material which was nice to see.

So other than that i've not really much else to mention. Christmas is rapidley creeping up on us, i've managed to do all my xmas shopping quite quickly all I have to do now is wrap them up! I am a bit annoyed though as I went to a lot of troubke to buy mark's xmas prezzy, a united top, without him knowing and he managed to guess what it was! so that's his suprise ruined!  I'm sure il have more yule time photo's to upload soon enuff.

Protest Shananigans!

As you know from this blog I am a student. And today students from around the UK went to London to protest against the rise of tuition fees. This,  I feel, is an amazing idea, protests get people to notice there's a problem and gives the opportunity for freedom of speech. So why the hell have students taken this opportunity to act violently, dusgusting and completely innapropriate. Students are the future, we go to University to train to go into the world and work, so who is going to take us seriously now? Although I would like to say well done to all the students who managed to protest without violence or injuring any of the police force.

Sorry to sound so morbid It's just the whole thing frustrates me!

Phat!

The weather's turning and its getting dark earlier, the only advantage to this is all the lovely Autum/Winter clothing that's out at the moment. Although I love love love to shop i'm also a fan of going back to the old fav's that have been hybernating all summer in my wardrobe. Or at least I use to be... I went to go put on my boyfriend-fit Levi's today only to find they no longer fit! The jeans that use to need a belt now wont even button up, talk about a kick in the crotch! or big fat belly in this case :(  That's the problem with winter it makes me want to eat all the time, if im sat still, eating keeps me warm! So from now on the healthyness begins, there has to be receipes for healthy hot dinners out there somewhere. I did however walked past Subway today with great strength to go home and make myself a ham sandwich on brown bread, so far so good! I just hope I can keep this up. I've been told all my life by women "you're too thin!" but I'm only 5'4" so being a size 6/8 is normal and even now I'm only 8/10 so I suppose I could've done with putting a little weight on, maybe they'll let me donate blood now!

Bit of good news though, I recently signed up to be an extra in a film they'r producing locally so tomorrow is my first scene, its super early 9am which means gettin up super super early to get myself all hair n make-up'd for the shoot! It's a funeral scene so all I have to wear is all black, and a black coat in this weather! Very excited though, will be very good experience and good for my cv! I'm going on my own tomorrow so I'm feeling a little bit nervous but hey if you don't get out there and do stuff when will you! One of my uni friends will be doing it with me for all the other scenes though which is in the next 2 weeks so that'll be fun!

Have started reading 'The Time Travellers Wife' which is supposed to be amazing, so soon enough you'll be getting yet another one of my reviews!

Hotel Heaven!

Me and Mark had our little romantic getaway on Monday night which was so so lovely, great to get away and spend some quality time just him and me together. We got the train to my home town where good old mum picked us up and took us to the hotel. I must admit it felt a bit wierd having my mum drop us off at a hotel when we all know that she was clearly thinking what we were going to get up to! hehe! we arrived to our room to find the bottle of champagne and strawberries we'd asked for, and toasted to our anniversary! We then went down to the spa to get our massages which were amazing.. and im not even going to let the fact that my skin reacted to the oils ruin it for me! We then went to use all the included facilities, the jacuzzi, the steam room, the pool and the sauna. The rest of the day included a tapas lunch, some more bubbly and the best three course meal ever! After that we went up to our room and well... thats for me to know... ;p

Mum then picked us up the next day but before we left we made sure we got all our money's worth by having a cooked breakfast and using all the pool facilities one last time. After arriving back at Uni I left mark to get on with some work and had a lovely little shopping trip and lunch with my mum, was nice to have a proper catch up!

take a picture with me mimi!

Just to let you know I hadn't written an entry for a while because I couldn't sign in! damn you technology!
So what's happened since my last entry? Well, I had another night out in aid of my old housemates birthday. The group of girls I went out with are notorious for getting into trouble either in the clubs or on their way home, so feeling anxious yet excited we headed out. For the club we went to you have to catch a bus, but birthday girls must travel in style...well, style being a taxi! We arrived before most people and headed straight to the v.i.p. Had an amazing night, no fights, lots of drinks and even did the limbo at one point, yes I had to go to the loo to crack my back back into place, but we dont need to mention that seeing as im older than most of my uni mates and get called 'granny' by some of them! I even managed to get up the next day and meet my performance group for a productive day of devising our piece! before going out, in the day time, I took a free trip to Liverpool organised by the Uni. We visited 3 art galleries around the city and a group of us girlies had a nice cheap pub lunch. But... The best news of all; I was just walking out of the first gallery and right there infront of me was Mimi from Shameless! Now I like to think of myself as quite a calm collected type of person, and I am, but apparently not when I meet celebrities, hehe. Camera in hand I strolled over, god knows what she must have thought seeing a wide eyed girl strutting over grinning like a cheshire cat. She was very nice though and was happy to take a picture with me, which I shall totally be posting on here as soon as!

I've got my romantic visit to a hotel tomorrow so me and Mark can celebrate our 2 years together (putting up with each other!). So we're going to celebrate in style by getting a half hour spa treatment, using the pool, sauna and jacuzzi and then having a 3 course meal in the restaurant.. oh and champagne and starwberries waiting in our room on arrival, yey!

So I shall let u know how that goes on my next post!

Fabulous Frolicks!

Well I did it... I finally had a night out! I've been trying to be careful with money lately to save up for future events and because i've been doing so well I decided I deserved it. The night started with the traditional routine of sipping pre-drinks whilst helping fellow housemates pick out outfits. I decided to go for the new black high wasted skirt i'd recently bought from the Topshop student event with an Urban Outfitters tank top i'd bought years ago, you've got to love it when you buy something new and it matches something you bought 5 years ago! I was looking a bit black and white however, so I decided to team this outfit with my babies, my babies being my Kurt Geiger hot pink stilettos.. Fab! After watching the final episode of 'The Inbetweeners' (disgusting and hilarious at the same time) we headed out. I had an amazing night out with my housemates, old housemates and friends from my course, there was no unnecessary drama to ruin the night, we ended the night in V.I.P. and apparently the singer Ellie Goulding was in the club!

Although hungover and tired i've not had a bad day; I've had a productive meeting with one of my performance groups, spent some quality time with Mark and spent the rest of the entire day watching the second series of 'Sex and the City'.  Hunger is starting to strike though!

As mentioned before i've got some expensive events coming up, the first being a night mark and I have booked in a hotel to celebrate our 2 years together. The day and night will consist of a half hour treatment each in the spa, tapas for lunch, a three course meal in the hotel restaurant and then a cooked breakfast in the morning and I cannot wait! The second event is the Birmingham clothes show that im attending with my fabulous girlies from home and once again I cannot wait! and the third is my coursemates 20th Birthday, the plan is to get a hummer limo into another city, V.I.P. club it till the silly hours of the morning and then take the hummer limo home, you've got to love a bit of tack! and i've promised to help organise this so I better get planning!

More fabulous updates soon! (this is what happens when I watch 'Sex and the City' I use words such as 'Fabulous'!)

All drama and no play...

It's been two weeks now since starting Uni and it hasnt taken very long to get back into the swing of things; I've already been given a thousand deadlines to be met and am already stressing about my dissertation. I know I shouldn't complain, I chose to do a degree and in all honesty I absolutly love my course. On the plus side, one of my modules is pretty much devising a performance about anything I want anyway I want so i'm looking forward to that!

Complaints over.. I have finished yet another great read from Jodi Picoult 'My Sisters Keeper'. Its already a pretty renouned book due to it being made into a film starring Cameron Diaz. I havn't actually seen the film yet as a swore I would read the book first, so i'm curious as to how Miss Diaz will play such a challenging role when i'm so use to seeing her playing the clumsy girl next door type. Also, the book has an uber shocking ending that I would have never predicted and films always have that annoying habit of changing the endings of books to please people so I hope the film wont dissapoint.

So other than University taking over my life and using my only spare time to read that's pretty much all I have to say for now. My God I need a night out!
